Mt. Airy, NC – The United Plastics Corp. is introducing new sound control barriers manufactured from industrial waste. They reduce noise transference in walls and floors by 75%. United Plastics’ “dB” line of sound control barriers are constructed from post-industrial waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.
Acoustic Engineers at United Plastics recognized acoustical properties in waste being left behind by some luxury auto manufacturers from their trim production process. United Plastics is utilizing this waste to suppress sound between walls and floors. The dB™ line is much lighter than heavy, drywall-based sound barriers.
The dB-3® and dB-4looring™
“We want to give people cost-effective acoustic barriers they can install themselves,”
The dB acoustic barriers weigh less than 1 PSF and are sold in rolls of 4’x 8’. Manufactured in the United States out of industrial waste, the acoustic barriers are impermeable to moisture and pass ASTM E-84 fire and smoke tests.
