A group of volunteers have started their work to serve the community in different sectors in UK, helping old age and disable persons and very soon to work on a housing project for these people. The aims of the group in services are as following:
We aim to lead the way in supporting people who have complex needs, and the communities in which they live to:
• Increase awareness of the national and local social services access;
• Promote understanding of different factors which may influence individual’s attitudes towards official dealings;
• Improve cross cultural knowledge and understanding in the local community;
• Provide an environment in which community members can build their confidence and develop their social skills;
• Promote increased awareness of autistic spectrum conditions in the community;
• Identify, assess and support people with complex needs;
• Support people in developing their self-esteem and fulfilling their potential;
• Work intelligently and creatively, providing services to the needs of the person;
• Work in partnership with other providers and funders to enable people to access the services and support they need;
• Work alongside with other charities, groups and associations to enable and encourage co-ordination between local authority and voluntary services to ensure better integration of different modes and linkage;
• Develop and facilitate community involvement and participation to establish the level of each other needs;
• Help to meet the needs of people for access to services, jobs and social facilities to ensure that community services are made available, are used widely and efficiently for the benefit of all;
• Strengthening family, community and neighbourhood relations and provide the mediation services where required;
• Develop and improve the quality of life of the different minority ethnic community living within the Oldham area and to the nearest District and Rural areas;
• Develop social events and activities to ease isolation and loneliness of Old and disable People;
• Help old and disable persons in maintenance of their dwellings and houses up to min. standard and arrange grants for refurbishment and easy access;
• Promote the green energy and environments by introducing and advising its use and help in technical matters;
• Research the extent of existing provision, and the barriers to using public resources.
• Work with communities where there are barriers due to lack of knowledge or access to information and develop appropriate and sustainable solutions.
• Brokerage of community services so that they are used efficiently, provide choice and complement other modes.
• Work in partnership with other providers and funders to enable people to access the services and support they need.
• Develop stronger communities with more active citizens, working together to tackle their problems.
• Create better chances in life for community members, with better access to training and development to improve their life skills.
