of high quality leather, announces the brand new ecological tannery factory to
open in Vietnam in July 2009.
Auspiciously located in the Binh Duong province of Vietnam, the factory will
employ nearly 300 employees and produce twenty million square feet of high quality leather each year within its earth-friendly facilities. During the “Topping Out” ceremony to celebrate the last beam placed on the roof-top, the tannery property will come alive with barbeques, swimming, outdoor activities and property tours.
ISA Tan Tec executives will present 20-minute training sessions on leather
tanning, quality standards, technology and manufacturing classes to a tour of the nearby Bamboo Conservation Centre.
The tannery’s official grand opening is set for the fourth quarter of 2009 after a
productive three month soft launch. CEO & President Thomas Schneider promises that this facility will be even more thorough in the execution of their environmental standards. As of this date, the Vietnam location is the only factory in the industry of this size striving for such an ambitious ecological plan, using 30% less energy and 50% less water than its competitors. The Leather Working Group (LWG), an organization committed to maintaining protocols and assessing the compliance and environmental performance of tanners awarded ISA Tan Tec with a silver medal.
