Shortly after the successful arrival of the ubiquitous iPhone in 2007, MobileSyncBrowser (MSB) was introduced to allow users access to their SMS messages, notes and call history by retrieving data automatically stored in iTunes every time the user synchronizes the device to the computer. MobileSyncBrowser allows the user to view, save, archive and export the information contained within the backup. MSB was the first program of its kind and remains the most complete cross-platform (Mac and Windows) utility available to the public.
The program's popularity spread mainly through word-of-mouth when users raved to one another. One user wrote "I thought I'd completely lost all my data along with my iPhone. In less than 90 seconds after running the program, I had all my contacts back, including some very important medical information. It felt like a miracle."
Much of its user-friendly qualities stem from the program's simple iPhonelike interface, which will be instantly familiar to users from either platform.
Everyone with an iPhone will find MobileSyncBrowser a useful accessory to have around. Users range from business executives who need to keep track of and produce hard-copy evidence of their communications, to the iPhone owner whose device was stolen or broken, to concerned parents wanting to keep track of their children's online contacts and friendships, and up to people who need MSB to gather information for legal proceedings.
MobileSyncBrowser 3.0, available in two versions, Classic and Plus, US$10 and US$20 respectively, adds compatibility with iPhone OS 3.0 and has been completely rewritten to provide better performance and enhanced stability.
Users are welcome to try out MSB before purchase in order to familiarize themselves with its easy-to-use interface.
