Atlona Technologies, solutions based manufacturer of Audio Video connectivity products, is excited to announce the newest addition to their team with hire of marketing intern, Sarah Chorey.
Atlona’s current marketing team is lead by Chris Bundy, Director of Marketing, and Joshua Carlson, Marketing Manager who began the hunt for an intern this past April, looking for a qualified individual ready to learn and take on the tasks of a communications position.
“We felt it was time to give back and teach others from our experiences. Interns are a great learning experience for us as well because they bring fresh ideas and a new perspective. At the same time they are able to gain hands-on, real world corporate experience that is not comparable to anything you learn in a classroom. It is a great trade off,” said Bundy.
Internships are becoming a more popular choice with most companies today. Having an internship gives college students and graduates that extra something when applying for jobs, showing a proven capability and providing a basis of experience on which they can perform.
Chorey expresses her enthusiasm in participating in the intern process: “Getting exposure to a challenging business environment is absolutely priceless. When I look for a job after college I will feel better prepared from the projects, meetings, interactions, and everything I have experienced from my internship.”
Larger corporations often have more established intern programs, however small companies with 100 or less employees are doing most of the intern hiring today. Atlona Technologies strives to be competitive and comparable to other companies on all fronts—their expansion to an internship program shows their dedication to educating the individual and the growth even small companies can make.
