C&M Corporation, an integrated manufacturer of bulk cable, coil cords, and cable assemblies has announced the release of a line of environmentally friendly cable products focused on wind turbine applications. This GreenLINX™
product line features cables that can not only handle the various electrical and physical requirements of a wind turbine application, but can do so with materials that are fully recyclable. Ranging in gauge from 2 AWG to 18 AWG, the product line includes flex constructions, servo cables, and VFD cables as well as feedback, encoder, and brake constructions. The flex family offers life spans from 1 million flexes through 20 million flexes. Most constructions are jacketed with C&M’s Duralon™
compound which has been specifically engineered for harsh industrial environments and carry a very specific Tray Cable (TC-ER) WTTC 1000V rating which is preferred by wind turbine manufacturers. "The goal of this development was two fold, namely, to develop the necessary products for wind turbine applications and to do so in an environmentally responsible way. I am happy to say we succeeded on both initiatives", said Paula Butkevich, C&M’s Renewable Energy Product Manager. Customization is also available depending on customer needs and the entire product family is available in assembled form. C&M expects to be launching other environmentally friendly products for the Renewable Energy marketplace under the GreenLINX™
umbrella in the near future.
C&M is headquartered in Wauregan, CT, with operations in Mexico and China. They can be reached at 860-774-4812 or at www.cmcorporation.com.
