By: John Palmer Art Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has images or lines that cannot exactly be reproduced. There are many techniques of monoprinting, including collage, hand-painted additions, and a form of tracing by which thick ink is laid down on a table, paper is placed on top and is then drawn on, transferring the ink onto the paper. Monoprints can also be made by altering the type, color, and pressure of the ink used to create different prints. Examples of standard printmaking techniques which can be used to make monoprints include lithography, woodcut and etching. The signature John Palmer monoprints combine inconic images, numerals, vibrant and muted colors and clean lines to create visually spectacular pieces that are perfect in either the chic home or corporate setting. Artist John Palmer will then return to Houston, Texas in early October to prepare for the unveiling of his latest monoprint pieces from Greece at an October 17, 2009 black tie affair at the glamorous 1218 Heights Boulevard gallery and studio. The "Toga Optional" Greek Party will also feature never-seen-before original John Palmer works on wood and canvas.
