Cornwall-on-
Hudson, NY, June 11, 2009 - On Saturday afternoon, June 6th, the St. Thomas of Canterbury School First Graders turned out to to pay tribute and honor America’s fallen sons and daughters soldiers and veterans of both nations.
“You will never comprehend what it was like to pay Tribute and Honor our US-UK Veterans, beyond description by mere words, an event that I will never forget,” said Simon Kirke of FREE and BAD COMPANY. “To have first graders from St. Thomas of Canterbury School (
http://www.stthomasofcanterburyparish.com/webpages/index.asp) understand and recite a fairly adult, emotionally intense soldiers poem, on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of D-DAY, in tribute to our US-UK Troops/Veterans, not only speaks volumes about the education and character of the students and their school, but also the amazing character and honor that is a common trait among our US-UK Goldstar parents.”
On behalf of St. Thomas of Canterbury School, Simon Kirke, Larry Oakes, and Caroline Purr, we wish to recognize and thank everyone that supports our US-UK veterans but, most of all, we thank all those that served their country, some of whom were wounded or even gave their lives for freedom, and all veterans for their continued fidelity to their nation.
