Liposuction is an effective method of fat removal for both men and women.
At beautiful Beings, we offer both liposuction and laser liposuction. Laser liposuction is not the same as smart liposuction. The two are often confused.
Laser Liposuction is one of the least invasive techniques for fat removal. The laser technology (a concentrated beam of light tuned to a certain frequency) is used to liquefy fatty deposits before they’re removed. As it is less invasive than other techniques, laser liposuction also produces the least risk of surrounding tissue damage.
About Liposuction cosmetic surgery
Liposuction offers a solution for unwanted, stubborn areas of fat. Everyone seems to have one area where fat loves to deposit. Suction-assisted lipectomy, also known as fat suction or liposuction cosmetic surgery, is a technique to remove unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body. Liposuction cosmetic surgery is effective for the chin, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, knees, and calves.
The best candidates for liposuction are patients with a relatively normal body weight, who have pockets of stubborn fat in particular areas. Liposuction patients should have realistic expectations and understand that liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss.
Liposuction is only a method of removing localised fat, which cannot be lost through dieting or exercise.
Further, liposuction cosmetic surgery will only remove fat. It cannot eliminate dimpling of the skin caused by cellulite.
The initial and very important step to be taken before any decision is made before liposuction, is a personal consultation with an experienced and licensed cosmetic surgeon.
Good health is a natural prerequisite before liposuction. It should be noted that the total amount of fat removed at any time during liposuction should not be in excess of 2.5 L to avoid any complications of the general state of health.
Where the fat tissue is more extensive, the liposuction surgery should be done repeatedly at 6 to 12 monthly intervals.
The ideal age for liposuction is between 18 to 45 years. This is because contractility and elasticity of the skin are vital for successful liposuction. However, with older patients, liposuction cosmetic surgery may be done with very good results in terms of reducing the fatty tissue volume, but the risk of small subcutaneous uneven patches increases.
Before Liposuction
Before Liposuction Surgery
Before liposuction the cosmetic surgeon measures the amount of fat deposits while the patient is standing and marks the more extensive areas of fat deposits on the patient’s skin with a pen.
The liposuction cosmetic surgery is performed under general anaesthesia.
The small tool used to remove fatty tissue, called a canylla, is inserted under the skin through small incisions 4 to 6 mm in length in the least visible locations during liposuction cosmetic surgery.
Then, the fat deposits are reduced with suction provided by a vacuum pump during the liposuction cosmetic surgery process.
The thickness of fat layer and the elasticity of the skin are monitored throughout the entire liposuction cosmetic surgery to determine how much fat could be removed and to ensure symmetry after the liposuction surgery.
The small skin cuts are sutured with just one or two stitches with surgical tape.
Immediately after liposuction, the patients are dressed in elastic compressive pants or garments.
The liposuction takes approximately one hour, depending on the amount of fat to be removed.
After Liposuction
After liposuction cosmetic surgery
Liposuction patients stay overnight in the clinic and are usually released the next morning from the clinic.
Rest is recommended for 3 to 4 days after liposuction surgery. Any walking should be restricted to essential needs only (toilet, bathroom, eating).
Later on, after liposuction cosmetic surgery, mild and gradual load is possible. Unrestricted physical activity may be resumed roughly four weeks after the liposuction cosmetic surgery.
After liposuction, there will be some pain and the patient may feel some discomfort or numbness to the areas liposuction was performed on. Bruising will also occur on the areas liposuction has been perfomed on.
Liposuction cosmetic surgery patients should keep their elastic pants or other garments on for three days after liposuction.
On the fourth day after liposuction, they can remove the pants and take a shower.
Immediately after the shower the elastic pants should be put on again. During the first month after the liposuction cosmetic surgery, the elastic pants can be taken off only for the time needed for personal hygiene and care.
Sutures are removed on the 7th to 10th days after liposuction cosmetic surgery. Massage the areas the liposuction has been performed on with a roller several times a day; this technique will be taught during the suture removal.
