President Obama signed into law a program that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is calling “The Car Allowance Rebate System” (CARS). This federal program helps consumers purchase a new, more fuel efficient vehicle while trading in a “clunker.”
AutoGo Auto Transport will be partnering with all participating dealerships to provide car shipping transportation for internet exchanges and online purchases. “AutoGo Auto Transport wants participants to get the best deal that they can. Consumers should not have to be limited to local dealers to take advantage of this rebate system,” says Gizmo Motto, Operations Manager, “We are here to provide quick speedy car shipments nationwide so that customers can get the vehicle they want anywhere in the United States.”
Important Things to Know About the Program:
• Your vehicle must be less than 25 years old on the trade-in date
• Only purchase or lease of new vehicles qualify
• Trade-
• You don't need a voucher, dealers will apply a credit at purchase
• The vehicle that you are trading in is required to be destroyed. Therefore, the value you negotiate with the dealer for your trade in is not likely to exceed its scrap value. The law requires the dealer to disclose to you and estimate of the scrap value of your trade-in vehicle.
• The program expires Nov. 1, 2009.
