This week's Featured Artist on SeeJoeRock is: Sarah Dunn
Sarah Dunn and Sundown was originally formed in 2005. Though their main focus is country music, the charm and appeal of Sundown is the group's diversity; their ability to blend genres to form a sound that allows for a varied audience. (The members are Sarah Dunn, Deborah Dunn, Lynn Seaton, Joe Davis, and Steve Rose.)
At 19, Sarah is a very dedicated musician. She has been singing non stop since the first note of Twinkle Little Star, and playing fiddle since she was 11. Sarah is very thankful to be surrounded and mentored by this great group of musicians. Her musical influences have been Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Reba McIntyre. She is a people person and she loves performing for an audience. Sarah's goal is to work hard, have fun along the way, and with any luck, maybe have a song on the charts someday.
To best describe the music of Sarah Dunn and Sundown, one would have to take the tender intensity of a ballad and combine it with the unstoppable rhythm of a two step beat, or perhaps the rowdy theme that IS outlaw country.
Since their arrival in the Southwest Missouri scene, they have progressed into a sound that is fresh and still somehow classic. Playing everything from the contemporary to the legendary, they have reached audiences from nearly every walk of life. They continue to play across the four states of Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas.. and the demand for this band is growing every day. Sarah Dunn and Sundown is the country music experience you won't forget!
