Capstone Publishers chief executive Tom Ahern announces the appointment of Miles Stevens-Hoare as managing director of its Heinemann-Raintree imprint.
Miles will lead Heinemann-Raintree’
s U.K. and U.S. business and will report to Tom Ahern. He comes from an impressive background in publishing, most recently as managing director of Scholastic Book Clubs and Fairs. During his time with Scholastic Miles delivered a number of successful strategic initiatives, including the development of a new book club model. Prior to Scholastic, Miles ran a specialist Education Communications agency, assisting corporate clients deliver their message in schools through innovative resource materials. Miles also has extensive experience across a range of other publishing formats having also lead Panini in the U.K. and worked for DeAgostini and EMAP.
Miles has a passion for supporting the development of children’s love of reading and is also a Governor at his local Primary school. “I am delighted to be joining Capstone at an exciting time in the business’ development in the U.K., U.S., and internationally.”
Capstone Publishers acquired the Heinemann-Raintree imprint from Pearson in September 2008. The appointment of a U.K.-based managing director reflects the company’s commitment to building its business in the U.K. to better serve the needs of librarians, teachers, and young readers and bringing the U.K. and U.S. businesses even closer together.
