Their religiosity was partly fuelled by wrong doctrines propagated by ministers of the Gospel who themselves lacked an intimate relationship with God.
Help! I’m Tired of Religion centers on the effect of wrong Christian doctrines on the lives of nine people who were led to believe that God was a means to their ends.
Take, for example, Janette Dubois, a Canadian from Ontario who was introduced to Christianity at age 39. A spinster in desperate need of a husband of her own, she accepted Christ when she was assured that He was her passport to matrimonial bliss. Or Bukola Akintola from Nigeria. After losing millions of dollars to fraudsters, a friend pointed him to Christ as a stepping stone to a business breakthrough.
With this as their foundation, they embrace Christianity and become involved with service in an attempt to win God’s approval and receive their desired blessings. They strive to please God but are met with the silence of heaven. In desperation, they begin questioning their Christian experience. Will these nine characters be able to win God’s approval or could it be they were sold the wrong product?

About the Author:
Help! I’m Tired of Religion is like an autobiography for author Pearl Adams. She began her Christian journey just like each of the characters in the book. She was pointed to another “Jesus,” not the one who died to save her soul; thinking she could find Him in specific locations or churches, she went “church shopping.” Finally, in desperation, she cried out to God and He revealed His Son Jesus Christ to her as her everything. Now Pearl believes God allowed her to go through the wilderness experience to appreciate the pain of others who are being led astray by false doctrines. She currently resides in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria.
