The Estridge Companies Collects School Supplies for
United Way BackPack Attack at 10 Locations
Carmel, Indiana – The United Way BackPack Attack campaign launched today and concludes Friday, August 7, 2009 with a goal of collecting over 500,000 school supplies to distribute to students in Indianapolis Public Schools. The Estridge Companies is assisting the United Way in reaching its goal and enhancing the education opportunities for these students by collecting school supplies at 10 locations, including its corporate office and Estridge neighborhoods.
According to United Way, 78% of Indianapolis Public Schools families cannot afford the basic school supplies needed resulting in a negative effect on the children’s education. The collection of 500,000 school supplies will allow United Way to provide 20,000 IPS students with supplies at the beginning of the school year.
“Proper school supplies are a stepping stone to a solid education by creating a more productive classroom and learning environment. We are proud to be a part of the United Way BackPack Attack and to contribute to the education of over 20,000 IPS students,” states Mary Catharine Grau, Director of Marketing, The Estridge Companies.
The Estridge Companies has a goal of collecting over 1,000 school supplies from the 10 Estridge collection points before the campaign conclusion August 7, 2009. The public is invited to drop off school supplies for the BackPack Attack Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm and Sunday noon to 5pm at Estridge model homes at the following locations:
