The hobby and sport of mountain biking has spread in a large capacity in the past couple of years. It is very common to see all sorts of people from different walks of life riding mountain bikes together in nature. As a matter of fact, most mountain bikers today live in big cities far away from any bike trail. This is an important fact for any beginning biker to read. Not once I have heard this following question: 'How can I get into mountain biking? I live so far from nature!' - My answer to this question is: especially because you live so far from nature, mountain biking is an excellent way to get close to nature.
We all know that most of the time we are all very busy. Most of us don't have the luxury to take many vacation days in order to go out and spend many hours or days out in nature, yet we all agree that being out in nature, even for just a couple hours can rejuvenate us. A perfect solution for this problem is to go out and ride your mountain bike for a short couple of hours. Many people who live and work in big cities have taken up this wonderful hobby. By mountain biking, one can see a lot of nature's beauty in a short while; enjoy a rush of adrenalin and all without loosing the strong feeling of connection to Mother Nature (the connection usually missed while riding in a motorized vehicle).
I realized this fact when I was on a vacation in Morzine in the French Alps. I was surprised to see that many people that don't answer to the nature buff types were quite at home riding single and down hill trails. Many of them told me that they ride regularly. Since then I have taken up that wonderful habit. In order to take my bike with me from the city out to nature, I put my bike on a rack on my car.
