Y&R Durban has won the Willowton Oil and Cake Mill’s account in a creative pitch against TBWA, DraftFCB, The Jupiter Drawing Room and a four-year incumbent Network BBDO last week. Willowton is a respected and trusted company that spans across South Africa, bringing Sunshine D margarine, Nuvo margarine, Sunfoil oil, Daily laundry soap and a number of other household brands to our shelves.
Lindsay Leppan, Managing Director of Y&R Durban commented that the success of the Y&R proposal can be attributed largely to our ‘left brain/right brain approach’. “Agencies generally lose business for one of two reasons: either the client is unhappy with the way their business is being managed (left brain) or they are unhappy with the work (right brain). We present ourselves as a complete partnership of both business and creativity, so that our clients can be assured of our best attention at all times”. Lindsay adds, “I’m delighted with the win and I’m looking forward to a long, mutually beneficial partnership with Willowton Oil”.
Mick Blore, Chief Creative Officer for Y&R Group in South Africa says the Y&R brand has invigorated itself worldwide. “We have sprinkled new magic on it and have made an absolute declaration to put creativity at the centre of our universe. We are all about insight-led big ideas and this pitch was no exception. We look forward to many great campaigns for Willowton Oil”.
Y&R Durban is one of three integrated Y&R agencies in South Africa, collaborating with Y&R Cape Town and Y&R Johannesburg.
