FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Jul 05, 2009 – Have you seen it around lately? It is something that affects us all that is stress. It is estimated that one of ten people you see at work, at the store, and wherever you go in your daily life is touched by the effects of stress. Defined by Webster's New Dictionary as, "mental or physical tension", stress affects us not only physically but also financially.

Consider these facts in regards to the physical effects of stress and anger: a Harvard Medical School study of 1,623 heart attack survivors found that when subjects got angry during emotional conflicts, their risk of subsequent heart attacks was more than double that of those who remained calm.

According to Ezine Articles, "80-90% of all doctors' visits these days are in part due to stress-related ailments; stress has been linked to anxiety, panic attacks, cancer, high blood pressure, etc. One thing for certain is that stress wrecks havoc on our immune system."

Consider also the financial effects of stress shown by the comments of Elizabeth Scott, M.S., "Roughly 7 in 10 respondents are "very stressed" about money, This is pretty significant because financial stress is linked to health problems like depression and sleep problems. With the rising cost of gas and food, the mortgage crisis, and the new bank troubles we're seeing, many Americans are feeling the crunch of financial stress."

In almost all cases the stress and anger that we feel are often carried with us when we go to work. Is it any wonder then that corporations too are feeling the effects of stress? In fact the researchers at the American Institute of Stress estimate that issues stemming from workplace stress take up at least 20 percent of a company's payroll, and over $150 billion in U.S. productivity each year.

With such gloomy facts and figures, it is not unrealistic to think that there is no hope for conquering or even coping with stress and anger. Julie Christiansen, author of Stress Less in 27 Days and Anger Solutions says there are indeed viable solutions to this growing problem. Christiansen, an internationally recognized speaker, and expert in anger and stress, brings over 15 years of experience in counseling and public speaking to boardrooms, auditoriums, and conference halls. Julie's tremendous expertise is in high demand from both radio and television. Her effectiveness and passion has caused others to affectionately dub her the "Oprah for the Office," and the "Anger Lady."

Julie's life-changing book, Stress Less in 27 Days, provides readers with the tools necessary to reduce stress and anger by: improving communication, re-kindling joy and passion in their lives, developing an attitude of gratitude, and quitting bad habits. In addition to her book Julie offers Transform[ED] and Anger Solutions Coaching; leading edge processes that helps participants resolve anger, learn how to leave the past behind once and for all, and shows them how to cope with the pressures and stresses of today.

"My work is about creating transformation," says Julie. "Everything I write and teach is with that end in mind. Stress Less in 27 Days provides practical tools that help people transform their consuming (or negative) stress into mobilizing (or positive) stress. Our coaching programs and corporate programs have the same aim to help people to produce positive, radical, lasting change for themselves."

Corporations too can benefit from Julie's expertise through leading edge programs designed to correct inefficiencies and to promote a healthy, productive workplace. Julie's unique ability is that of tackling "difficult topics" such as Negativity and Anger in the Workplace and Stress Busters, with humor, tact, and grace. Her Survivor themed "Extreme Team Building" corporate program allows Julie to work with teams to diagnose and correct those stress and anger-inducing barriers that may be preventing them from attaining peak performance within their organizations. Julie's primary focus is the unique needs of the customer, every program she delivers is custom tailored to fit.

"The answers to anger and stress are simple, yet profound," says Christiansen. "Creating total transformation is not a question of large, difficult changes; rather it is a culmination of small, subtle shifts like a change in perception, or listening more and talking less."
