The morning of 9th Dec, 2006 saw a host of eminent corporate & political personalities & top notch industrialists, gathered to attend the Young Indian's Northern Region Summit, at the Taj Mansingh, New Delhi. The topic of discussion was India on Rise, Aspire to succeed. Starting with the introduction we all were briefed about the organization known as Young Indians and their various achievements and future plans.

The chairman, Boston Consulting Group, Mr. Arun Maira addressed the young Indians on India's achievements and pitfalls in various sectors. He also mentioned that India has been recognized as a rapidly developing attacking economy by the western countries. In a very motivating speech he referred to us (young Indians) as being the statistics for India's growth and our existence will make India rise.

After a brief break the session was resumed with the success stories of Mr. Malvinder Mohan Singh, CEO & MD Ranbaxy laboratories Ltd., Mr. Ashish Dhawan, Senior MD Chrys Capital & Mr. Dan Sandhu, Chairman Vertex India Ltd. Each of them discussed the hardships faced on the path of success and the way they overcame all huddles and emerged successful. The session was very inspiring and motivating for us to remain focused and committed towards our goals.

In the next session we were introduced to the Franklin Covey Institute, headed by Mr. Stephen Covey. The Co - chairman & CEO Mr. Lavleen Raheja discussed the theories of leadership and trust which are the prerequisites for becoming successful entrepreneurs.

The last session had an encouraging conversation with the youngest successful Indian director Farhan Akhtar interviewed by Mr. Vikram Chandra, Managing editor, NDTV. Finally the event ended with the NDTV’s BIG FIGHT discussing the topic “IS INDIA OVERPROMISING” with some renowned political and corporate panelist. The debate was supported by Mr. Ashish Dhawan & Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, MP and was opposed by Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala , Mr. Saurabh Srivastav & Mr. B J Panda.
