July 3, 2009 - PRLog -- Colorado Springs, CO - The Association for Software testing is holding their fourth annual CAST software testing conference in Colorado Springs this year, on July 13 through 16 at the historic Antlers Hilton hotel. The conference is designed to advance the knowledge of software testing techniques and practices, and encourage would-be testers to join the profession.

This year's conference will include such expert speakers as Jerry Weinberg, Dr. Cem Kaner, James Bach, and the keynote speaker Dr. Jonathan Koomey; all of whom will be offering full-day tutorials on the first day of the conference, sharing their expertise in the field of software testing. In addition to the experts speaking at the conference, software testers will also have the opportunity to interact with their peers to discuss new testing techniques.

Ben Simo, president of the Association for Software Testing says, "The primary goal of CAST is to bring testers together for conferring that leads to advancing the understanding and practice of software testing - both for each participant and the profession". Since 2006, the CAST conference has been leading the way in giving testers an outlet for active advancement in the field.

In addition to the tutorials and day sessions being offered by experts in the field of software testing, CAST is also offering a special training session on the last day of the conference for those who wish to teach software testing to others. Individuals who complete this particular tutorial will have satisfied the initial requirements for being able to teach AST approved software testing courses either for credit or profit. This special BBST Instructor training course is being offered independently from the rest of the conference, and must be registered for separately. Cost is just $35 for members and $50 for non-members.

CAST is designed to bring software testers from around the globe in the hopes of advancing the knowledge, theory and practice of software testing; and to give testers and software quality engineers a place to confer with their peers and with experts in the field.

Software testers and quality engineers wishing to attend the conference should lock in their registrations by visiting http://market.cast2009.org. Special discounts are being offered to students and groups of three or more wishing to attend.
