A new version 2.00 of tool for SCRUM and XP project management and tracking called Sprintometer was released.
Sprintometer was firstly published in Internet in September 7, 2008. It was originally created by people working on offshore agile projects for their own purposes and now is available as freeware product supported by Sprintometer Ltd. which is specializing in agile tools development.
Though application is rather new it has won already some valuable IT industry awards (http://sprintometer.com/
Sprintometer client is a Windows application which stores project data either in a local file or in Sprintometer Server accessible by Web Services. Platforms Windows XP/2003/Vista are supported.
The application is rather simple but powerful and has some features unique or rare for similar agile tools:
- Unique ‘Burn-down’
- Unique ‘Track upon work left/complete’
- Support for variable team size during a sprint (iteration)
- Unique support for both standalone and client-server mode
- Export to Microsoft Excel for all charts and spreadsheets
