PR Log (Press Release) –
Jul 03, 2009 – The recession and consequent unemployment have affected graduates leaving university and college. Rates have varied between subjects with lower rates among graduates who leave with degrees in mass communication, documentation, and computer science. Vacancies for graduates have been cut by 28 per cent. According to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (Hesa), 16,835 graduates did not find a job after leaving university – 8 per cent, a rise from 6 per cent the previous year. These figures continue to show that young people under 25 are the biggest victims of the recession.
To turn figures around a third of graduates have settled for working in bars, shops or call centers. Many are battled with debts from tuition fees adding up to £3,000 per year. Worried by the lack of job prospects many have found any paid job. These jobs that are found are classed as elementary and do not require any experience from their degrees. Employment rates for graduates with lower qualifications have been higher than others. Many graduates have gone into sales and customer service roles showing that there is growth in these areas so graduates should remain positive. # # # EA Worldwide Acquisitions is a direct marketing company working with a variety of clientele.
