Wakesurf Tips and Basic Wakeboard Information Just Released

PR Log (Press Release) – Jul 03, 2009 – Wakeboard Zone has just released a new section of their website that has all of the basics on Wakesurf. This is part of a new community website that is all about Wakesurf Information. Members and non-members can visit this Wakesurf Tips page on the Wakeboard Zone website for free at: http://www.wakeboardzone.org.

Here is an excerpt from the new Wakesurf information webpage:

"The person who surfs the ocean makes use of the waves to move forward. This enables him or her to surf the waves without any other form of propulsion.  However, it is impossible to find waves on lakes. That is the reason why motorboats are used to create wakes to replicates the wave that is found in the ocean.  The person then proceeds to surf the wake without the assistance of the boat.  The individual uses the aerodynamics of the wake to keep moving.  Of course, sooner or later, the momentum of the person is lost and he or she has to start all over again. However, depending on the choice of the motorboat and the choice of the wakesurf board, you can keep moving for a long period of time.

The proximity of the individual towards the boat creates a serious safety risk.  Making user of any ordinary motorboat is not acceptable because most of the boats have an outward or inward outward motor. The risk of the person being pulled into the propellers is very high. This can lead to serious injury to the wakesurfer. To ensure this problem does not arise, only those boats that have an inward motor should be used for the sport of wakesurf. No other motorboat must be used. Unlike wakeboarding, the choice of the motor boat becomes very important in wakesurf. The rear side of the boat is often weighed down with ballast, lead, sand or even people.  The excess weight in the backside forces the boat downwards into the water and this leads to the creation of a strong wake. Since the person surfs the wake at a distance of not more than five feet from the boat, he or she is in a position to keep moving for a long period of time."
