The figures for people visiting the new Sutherland Shire Hairdressers site over the past 3 months at http://www.sutherlandshirehairdressers.com.au
have just been released.
The logs from the site show that from the period April May June there were 1437 unique visitors!
That's not including 2nd , 3rd visits from the same computer and also excludes visits from search engines and other web robots that go around the web looking for information.
Multiply by 4 for 4 quarters in the year and the figure is 5748 people coming to the site.
This is how the web can be so cost-effective as an advertising medium. Put an ad in the local paper and you have no idea how many people read it, although you do know most of the readers won't. Yet over 5,000 new people read the equivalent of a multi-page ad for no cost except the time to get to Page 1 of Google.
Unlike the local paper or radio or TV, these people were active readers. That is, they were interested enough to look for the information, instead of being just a passive recipient.
That's without building lots of links etc. No wonder the Print media is concerned as they see the future looming now.
