A Chestnut Hill Hospital, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine study to determine if red yeast rice will reduce bad cholesterol is reviewed in an article titled, “High Cholesterol Reduced by Red Yeast Rice,” by Bernard P. Nelson. The article was published by Suite 101 Magazine.
Lower Cholesterol Naturally
The University study studied 62 volunteer patients, 32 were given pills with no medication without their knowledge. 32 patients were given red yeast rice pills not knowing whether of not they were receiving a placebo or the real thing. Then they were tested for cholesterol levels for 24 weeks. The results of the test are discussed in the article.
