Cellaplex
Onxysphere Ltd. (Malaysia) released results of a new double blind trial on Cetyl Myristoleate, one of the main actives found in Cellaplex. The study was held at University Heights in Malaysia and consisted of 100 patients with osteoarthritis (OA). OA is a type of arthritis that is caused by the breakdown and eventual loss of the cartilage of one or more joints. Before age 45, OA occurs more frequently in males. After age 55 years, it occurs more frequently in females. Among the over 100 different types of arthritis conditions, osteoarthritis is the most common, affecting over 20 million people in the United States.
The 12 week trial was directed by three rheumatologists who reported a significant decrease in joint pain, inflammation and fatigue in the control group. An increase in flexibility and pain threshold was seen as well. The placebo group reported minimal success in the pain and flexibility scores.
