YWCA Dayton Kicks Off Back To School Wish List Program

School supplies collected for the Wish List program will help send a child back to school with the basic necessities to continue their education.

July 1, 2009 - PRLog -- The YWCA Dayton has kicked off its Back To School Wish List program for 2009. The Wish List program seeks donations of school supplies for children in the YWCA's Domestic Violence Shelter and other programs managed by the YWCA as well as programs administered by partner agencies. In 2008, the YWCA Dayton served 28 families encompassing 64 children with a new backpack and school supplies for the August Back to School season. Many more families were assisted throughout the year when they were served by the YWCA’s programs and services.

Donations of new school supplies can be delivered to the YWCA Dayton administrative offices at 141 W. Third St. (Third and Wilkinson), Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM beginning July 7th. Monetary donations are always welcome and checks payable to YWCA Dayton can be mailed to 141 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45402.

School supplies collected for the Wish List program will help send a child back to school with the basic necessities to continue their education as well as assist the YWCA throughout the year as new families enter shelter. A backpack, a lunch box or a pencil and notebook can keep a child engaged in their education in an otherwise traumatic time in their lives. To receive a copy of the YWCA Wish List or for further information, please contact Angie Hoschouer at 937-461-5550, ext. 179 or email at ahoschouer@ywcadayton.org.
