ACN Co-Founders present the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte with a donation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Jul 01, 2009 – CHARLOTTE, N.C.—June 29, 2009—The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Charlotte received a huge donation from both ACN, its independent representatives and Donald Trump this weekend.

During ACN’s International Training Event, which attracted more than 25,000 people and was held at both the Time Warner Cable Arena and Bojangles’ Coliseum, the company and its independent representatives made a donation of $124,870 to the RMH of Charlotte.  Trump, who was Sunday’s guest speaker, made his own donation of $10,000.

“Ronald McDonald House is fantastic, they do an unbelievable job.  I know ACN is very supportive and that’s great,” Trump said during a press conference Sunday prior to his presentation at the Arena. “And on behalf of ACN, I’m going to make a $10,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte.  Not in New York, in Charlotte.”

Mona Johnson-Gibson, Executive Director of the RMH of Charlotte, still cannot believe the tremendous support her charity received this weekend.

“The ACN Co-Founders, employees and independent representatives  were extremely gracious to me and all my volunteers who attended this weekend’s training event,” Johnson-Gibson said.  “I just want to thank them, the attendees and Mr. Trump for their generosity.  ACN continues to amaze, not just us in Charlotte, but the charity globally.”

ACN, the largest direct seller of telecommunications and home services in the world, began working exclusively with the Ronald McDonald House Charities last year raising funds at each of its global events.”

“This was the perfect charity for ACN because of its global reach and outstanding commitment to children and their families,” said Greg Provenzano, ACN President and Co-Founder.  “Plus, with our world headquarters now located in Concord, N.C., supporting the RMH of Charlotte was an easy decision because it’s right in our backyard.”

Having recently consolidated all U.S. operations to Concord, ACN opened its new state-of-the-art World Headquarters on June 25.  During this weekend’s training events, the company collected contributions from thousands of generous ACN representatives and employees.  ACN then matched these contributions dollar for dollar.

About the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte
The RMH of Charlotte is scheduled to open sometime in 2010 and will serve the families of children being treated at Levine Children’s Hospital and Presbyterian Healthcare’s Hemby Children’s Hospital.  Located on the 1600 block of East Morehead Street on land donated by Carolinas Medical Center, the House will feature approximately 35,000 square feet of living space complete with almost 30 bedrooms (one family per bedroom/suite), providing more than 10,000 nights for the families.  It is also scheduled to have a family kitchen, great room, learning center, playground and sitting porch.  Construction will hopefully begin in this year.  The RMH of Charlotte is an independent 501 (c) (3) charity managed by a local board of directors which will oversee construction and operation of the home.  The cost of building and operating the RMH of Charlotte will come primarily from individual and corporate donations.  The RMH of Charlotte will be funded, constructed and operated by the Charlotte community.  The mission of the RMH of Charlotte is to provide the families of children being treated in area medical facilities with a safe, affordable and caring “home away from home.”  For more information on RMH of Charlotte, visit htttp://www.rmhofcharlotte.org.
