PR Log (Press Release) – Jul 01, 2009 – Our Summer Cover Girl, Jena Sims is from Winder, Georgia and has recently returned from a Dream South African volunteer trip.  Jena is known for her philanthropy and charity work.  Jena Sims was Miss Georgia Teen USA 2007, and Miss Junior National Teenager in 2005. Along with her pageant achievements, she has received several national awards for her outstanding involvement with community service. Since 1999, she has raised over $84,000 for the American Cancer Society, and has created her own non-profit organization, HBBQ's, Inc. where she hosts pageants for children with cancer. Her awards include: DoSomething.org BRICK award, Discover Tribute Award, Nestle Very Best in Youth Award, and Spokesmodel for "Once Upon a Dream" inspirational clothing line, just to name a few. Inspiring Others is a theme we live and breathe here at Gladys Magazine!

Our breathtaking cover was shot at the world famous Falling Rock Hotel at Nemacolin Resort and Spa in Farmington, Pennsylvania!  The background in our cover is the 18th green of the Pete Dye designed Mystic Rock Golf Course which can be viewed from this Five Diamond architectural wonder. This classy image embraces our Gladys Brand and our Director of Photography, Bill Streicher captured the essence of summer and dreaming of your favorite destinations.  The rest of our Gladys Dream Team included our fabulous Hair Stylist, Thaddeus Golonka and stellar make up artist Ashle-a Powell. Our accomplished Creative Director, Susan Perrault contributed her beautiful artistry and design to our Summer Gladys.  Andrea Patrick Forte, Editor-in-Chief of Gladys wants to thank everyone involved who contributed in making this a spectacular issue!

Miami and New York swimsuit designer, Red Carter, provided the bikini for our Cover Image and Joyce's Jeweler's from Uniontown, Pennsylvania provided the gorgeous diamonds that  adorned our stunning model.  Our thanks to Coni & Franc Boutique and Francesca Merandi Jewelry for their beautiful clothing and jewelry for our editorial shoots.
