In 2008, China's search engine market has some changes in steady: vendors in the first echelon, including Baidu, Google and Yahoo!, took up a market share of 96.4% together, up 4.2 percentage points from 2007. That indicates market concentration further improved; the market share of vendor in the second echelon, including SOHU, Sina, ZhongSou.com, NetEase and SOSO slightly decrease, which has obvious distance with the first echelon vendors.

In 2008, "improving user's experience" has become the market's theme. Google always pursues intelligent search; Google lays out music, video and news in search results so as to improve users' information access efficiency. Because SOSO depends on Google's technology, so it doesn't have advantage; however, its search engine services include direct area, community search and vertical search. Youdao provides most efficient choices and individualized home page in search home page; meanwhile, it launches timely news.youdao.com, including characters, video and blog, which is convenient for users to use Youdao, improve information acquisition's convenience and multimedia.

In 2008, living services search has become the highlight in search market, the vendors win good market response and users' concerns, including koubei.com, www.ganji.com, aibang.com, 58.com and baixing.com, which provide living service information.
