FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Jul 01, 2009 – Industrial plants demand safe, reliable and well-controlled operational conditions. Equipment must be corrosion-resistant and carefully monitored to remain so. Therefore it is essential that well-trained inspectors are able to detect corrosion and minimize its effects.

The Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) endorses a series of comprehensive and structured training programs covering essential aspects of the various disciplines within the areas of protective treatment inspection. All ICorr courses (http://www.ndt-training.sgs.com/ndt-training-corp/ndt_tr ...) are based on ISO, EN and related international standards and meet the requirements of EN 45013 – the general criteria for certification bodies.

In cooperation with Argyll – Ruane Ltd (http://www.ruanetpo.com/), SGS China is extending its Non-Destructive Testing training courses and will offer the first Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) courses in October 2009. These courses are designed to prepare candidates for the Painting Inspector Level 1 examination and subsequently for the Coatings Inspector Level 2 examination.

Painting Inspector Level 1 will be offered as a single, 5-day course suitable for candidates with or without experience in industrial painting or inspection. If candidates successfully pass the Painting Inspector Level 1 examination, they can join the Coatings Inspector Level 2 examination, which takes 3 days and will follow immediately after the Painting Inspector course.

The Coatings Inspector Level 2 course requires 5 days and is suitable for all candidates. A 3-day version is available for ICorr Painting Inspectors who do not want to revisit the subject areas common to both Painting Inspection and Pipeline Coating Inspection.

The following sessions have been scheduled in English (the course dates may vary by 1 or 2 days only):
Painting Inspector Level 1
Training Dates: 12th - 16th October 2009
Examination Dates: 17th - 18th October 2009

Coatings Inspector Level 2
Training Dates: 19th - 22nd October 2009
Examination Dates: 23rd October 2009

The course will be held at the SGS Training and Examination Center in the Pudong area of Shanghai, China.
