LANXESS Appoints Peter Weinmar as Country Representative of Japan, Head of Japan/South Korea Region

PR Log (Press Release) – Jul 01, 2009 – Tokyo – German specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG has appointed Peter Weinmar (48) as the Country Representative and President and CEO of LANXESS K.K. He will succeed Mr. Hiroaki Ito (63), who is retiring. Concurrently, he has been appointed Head of the newly created Japan/South Korea Region. The appointments take effect from July 1, 2009. Mr. JeWoong Ko (53) will remain the Country Representative and President and CEO of LANXESS Korea.    

As Head of Japan/South Korea region, Mr. Weinmar will be responsible for aligning the businesses and resources between both countries. The objectives are to meet the demands of customers in this region faster and with more innovative solutions, as well as to explore new opportunities for growth.

Previously at LANXESS, Mr. Weinmar held positions as Head of Material Protection Products business unit and Head of Ion Exchange Resins business unit. Prior to that, he worked for BAYER AG in corporate strategic planning and sales and marketing positions covering inorganic chemicals and inorganic fine chemicals.
