Online organic retailer shopOrganic.com has added a new principal to the company. Laurie Marini, former COO and CFO of Canyon Ranch, who has a wealth of financial and operational expertise, officially joined the firm June 1, 2009.

Prior to joining shopOrganic, Marini held several key executive roles at Canyon Ranch, including CFO and COO. She played a key role in expanding the company to several new locations as well as extending the brand into additional areas. “My background in finance and operations is a great fit for shopOrganic and I’m impressed with the progress the company has made to date,” says Marini. “We’re just starting our second capital raise and we’ve developed an exciting strategic plan moving forward. I’m looking forward to working with the team to implement this plan and watch the company really take off.”

shopOrganic launched in 2008 and has seen sales continue to grow throughout its first full year in business. The firm has continued to expand its product offerings to meet the needs of a wide variety of organic, gluten free, raw and vegan consumers as well as to offer natural and eco-friendly products including household products, pet products and more. The company was formed by Susan Snedaker and Lisa Mainz in early 2008 and the site launched in May of last year.
