PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 30, 2009 -
tour as they hit the Key Club on Friday, July 3, 8 p.m. in a benefit for the Save a Life Foundation. This promises to be a spectacular show dedicated to finding homes for lost animals. There will be boothes and lots and lots of extravagant tunes for your own personal gratification. Doors open at 4 p.m., with bands performing at 5 (Rent to Own hits the stage about 10.) Participating celebrities and dignitaries will be announced as they become available.

Now based in Sun Valley, CA, Rent to Own first made a name for itself in their native Denver, CO. It was there that the core of the band (Brandon Apgar, lead vocal, guitar; Jeffrey Apgar, rhythm guitar; Tim Sepulvado, lead guitar; Kriss Edwards, bass guitar; Joe Rodriguez, drums) first formed during a house party jam session. The band jelled early, leading to an album’s worth of material, their independent debut, “Euphoria.” The band’s upcoming tracks take their music a step forward, having worked on them with producer Bill Douglass, known for his work with Smashing Pumpkins and Lit, at Royal Recordings. Newly signed to Florida-based Powerline Records, the band’s debut release, “Spellbound,” is Summer 2009. This is the third for the label as part of a new deal with Select-O-Hits.

Rent To Own’s frantic sound has become the daily drug for those longing for a musical act filled with infectious energy. Their edgy performance, where they are known for switching instruments as they perform, is rambunctious, infectious and full of high energy. The aggressive, hook-laden guitar riffs jerk listeners like a sucker punch, and intensifies the restless abandonment with which they perform. The addictive melodies are anchored by punchy drum rhythms perfectly complimented by the dynamic bass and intense rhythm guitar lines. Rent To Own’s percussive energy snares their growing waves of fans that jump into their music… pushing and shoving, releasing the joys and frustrations of day-to-day life.
