No Lotion Cover
After much anticipation hip hop group the Ashy L Bowz release their debut albu No Lotion to the public for free. Originally released on Ash Wednesday of 2007 the critically acclaimed debut was nominated for several awards including a Hollywood Music Awards and Independent Rap Album of the year. The original release however in their eyes was flawed because not only did they write all of the music but they also engineered the project. Perfectionists almost to a fault, the group decided to invest the sales from the album to have the entire project re-mixed and re-engineered by a professional. John Hopkins of Lofish Studios in NY was chosen for he job.
Mr. Hopkins is a Grammy balloted as well accredited Platinum record selling engineer for R.E.M. and has worked with such artists as Mobb Deep, Busta Rhymes and Corey Gunz. The Ashy L Bowz also decided to mp3 player optimize the download of the debut. The new download link includes credits, never before seen pictures from the album cover photo shoot and what they believe is a first for an independent album debut , the lyrics for every song. The group is currently working on three new mixtapes that will be available free, Going Green 2: 808's and Smoke Breaks, Dry Humpin 2: the Diary of a Ashy Band and Jointz 2: Radio Unfriendly as well as a new Concept album entitled the Great Repression before the release of the follow up to their debut album No Lotion^2, scheduled to be released on Ash Wednesday 2010 (2/17/10).
