June 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Sweet Claudette & Friends Band Celebrate the Success of their 2009 release,
THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO CD at Memphis Smoke, 100 S. Main, Royal Oak, MI, (248) 543-4300 on Friday, July 10th. Friends old and new will be there. This No Cover Productions Indie CD has stayed on the airplay charts for more than five months now. Sweet Claudette's songwriting offers some pretty great, witty lyrics. Songs are a mixture of funk, jazz, country, classic, up- tempo and slow blues with nine originals and one cover song. THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO CD lends itself to some great ambience.

Don’t let the CD title THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO fool you, there are a couple of songs attesting to what a good man can do for his woman, as in Best Damn Loving and Love I See In Your Eyes. Pretty good love songs too. Just Sweet Claudette's way to show all blues do not have to give you the blues.

THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO charted at # 17 on the March 2009 Living Blues Magazine Airplay Chart right around six weeks, became CD of the Week in France in less than three months, made the Roots Music Airplay Charts over four months, and continues to find its place in the top 10 on the Michigan Roots Music Airplay Chart. In addition to other huge surprises on this one for Sweet Claudette. Sweet Claudette now has 36 recorded songs to her credit, over five CDs.

Domestic and international push has been in place since the release of That Man’s Got To Go CD on commercial, independent, college and Internet radio since late January 2009. THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO continues it's place on airplay rotation during several radio stations regular broadcasts.

"Sweet Claudette is a sultry, deep-voiced singer and songwriter ... This CD is solidly in the gutbucket groove that characterizes Detroit blues—polished, yet with a sense of the raw. ... All this makes THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO a most enjoyable CD indeed, variegated and well done." Reviewer George Fish, Illinois Blues Blast E-Zine (Feb 26, 0009).

Sweet Claudette has "lined up the stars" both literally and figuratively for her fifth and most definitive CD to date. She is joined on this release by a who's who of Detroit talent including Howard Glazer and Dan DeKuyper on Guitars, Alonzo "Big Al" Haralson on Trumpet, Marty Montgomery on Sax, Greg Manning on Drums, and Todd MacIntosh on Bass. – Steve Allen, Independent Reviewer. The horns certainly helped to push THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO into high gear.

“Sweet Claudette, THAT MAN'S GOT TO GO (No Cover) Ms. Claudette, though relatively unknown on the national scene, has the sound of a woman who has been singing the Blues for a good long time. And the group of musicians she has behind her on this record lay down a groove that does Detroit proud.” Reviews KVKR-FM, January ‘09.

Sweet Claudette returned back to Alabama in May ’09 to join her home state sistah’s, the Alabama Women of the Blues for the fifth year with Presidential Taller Awardee (presented by former President Bill Clinton), Ms. Debbie Bond (http://www.myspace.com/debbiebondblues), Carroline Shines (http://www.carolineshines.com) daughter of the late blues legend, Johnny Shines  Shar-Baby  http://www.livebluesworld.com/profile/SharBaby) and Elnora Spencer) at the late Willie King’s Freedom Creek Festival and was on the same bill with bluesman, Kenny Neal (http://www.kennyneal.net, Jerry ‘Boogie’ McCain, ‘Big’ Joe Shelton and many others. Other show dates included: Mr. Gips Juke Joint, in Bessmer, Alabama, Windsor, Ontario Canada, Royal Oak, Fostorio and Fort Gratiot, Michigan.
