June 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Boresha BSweet acai sweetener has raised the bar when it comes to natural sweeteners, let alone artificial sweeteners.

Move aside honey, BSweet is here!

Boresha BSweet is a certified low glycemic sweetener right from the acai berry and kiwi fruits.  Boresha BSweet, a.k.a. Acai Sweet is great for the whole family.  From children to adults, to dieters and diabetics BSweet natural sweetener is beneficial for everyone.  Why might you ask?   Lets take a look...

With the childhood obesity and diabetes epidemic continuing to increase each year, researchers started taking a look at the cause.  They found that fat storage factors in babies and children are hard wired to store calories in fat cells and to createmore fat cells when high glycemic or high cephalic foods or beverages are ingested and introduced into their diet.  The onslaught of abundant fat storing and multiplying makes it almost impossible for those children to either maintain a normal weight or to lose weight as they grow.  By the age of 18 the concept and struggle to be slim or obese has already been set for that child.

So what can we do now?  First things first, stop the onslaught.  We can do this by switching to natural low glycemic and non-cephalic foods, beverages, and sweeteners.  Let us focus in on sweeteners as most foods and beverages contain it in some form or another.

All sweeteners, whether natural or synthetic cause our body to store fat.  The biochemical mechanisms or triggers vary between natural and synthetic sweeteners, but the outcome is the same; weight gain, more and larger fat cells, insulin resistance, and an increase in incidence of type 2 diabetes.  Both artificial and natural sweeteners cause fat cell stimulation.  Neither are exempt from contributing to obesity and diabetes in humans.

Even our favorite or popular zer0 -0- sugar, zero -0- fat, and zero -0- carbohydrate sweeteners can still trigger obesity and coincidentally increase type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.  The culprits of such a silent attack results from the type and amount of sugar, sweet taste perception in the mouth (a.k.a. our Cephalic Response), types of artificial sweeteners, glycemic response, as well as the Brix levels (measurement of amount and level in sweetness) of the sugars and sweeteners.

The path of sugar and fat storage doesn't start in the stomach.  It begins in our mouth.  Aside from sugars stimulating the production of insulin and glycemic perimeters, high glycemic sugars can stimulate intense fat storage, reactive hypoglycemia, as well as Cephalic Response via the brain.  What is Cephalic Response?  I'm glad you asked.

To break it down in layman's terms, Cephalic Phase Insulin Response (CPIR) is when any sweetener is introduced to the tongue, whether straight from the package, in foods or beverages, and a series of chemical reactions take place releasing hormones prior to any nutrients being absorbed.  You don't even have to swallow and you're body has already put into motion a biological process to handle the sugars now supposedly being introduced into the body.

Scientists discovered these responses are triggered via the brain before any sweetener is introduced into the stomach.  Basically, the brain over rides the digestion process and tells the body to begin insulin secretion based on the type and magnitude of the stimulative.  This biochemical cascade triggers the liver to stop the manufacture of protein and starch from its body reserves, and to begin to store the glucose-energy that is going to be circulating in the blood.  Almost instantly, the body beings the production of insulin, the "fat" hormone, which stores sugar in the blood stream, and programs our fat cells to hoard.  If no real food or calories are introduced to satiate the body's desire for food, hyper-urges from the liver to overeat can last from 1-2 hours.  Now, the body is producing insulin for no reason, because the brain has instructed the liver to store instead of burn/release its storage supplies.

This Cephalic Response is followed by chronic hyperinsulinemia (or excess levels of insulin circulating in the blood) which can lead to cell exhaustion, causing down-regulation (or decrease) of insulin receptors on the cells and increase in insulin resistance.  Insulin resistance is the high risk factor leading to type 2 diabetes.   When the body no longer responds to insulin we have what we call Type 2 Diabetes.  As a result this leads to elevated insulin levels and the negative effects of diabetes such as kidney failure, heart disease, and blindness.

The Cephalic Phase Insulin Response creates reactive hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which further triggers strong cravings for more sweet-tasting items, and high glycemic foods.   Thus the Cephalic Fat spiral leads to greater and greater fat storage.

How does the average person avoid the Cephalic Response?  They can do this by buying or ordering non-cephalic products such as Boresha BSweet acai sweetener, and consuming non-cephalic and low glycemic products.

The Glycemic Research Institute located in Washinton, D.C. has awarded Boresha BSweet acai sweetener the coveted Kid Friendly Certification because BSweet acai sweetener does not stimulate the fat storage cascade and does not promote type 2 diabetes in children.  The GRI has also awarded BSweet the Diabetic Friendly sweetener Certification as BSweet is Non-Cephalic Certified as it does not trigger the cephalic response, and is an insulin-independent low glycemic sweetener.  Just in case we lulled you to sleep with the science, we'll repeat that important statement again : )   BSweet does not stimulate insuline secretion, blood glucose, or Lipoprotein Lipase (another article in itself) making this sweetener the top choice for a growing number of households as well as a great sugar replacement for diabetics.  BSweet natural fruit sweetener may also serve a useful role for diabetics in the dietary management of blood sugar levels, and may lead to reducing post-prandial (after a meal) glucose levels that will aid in overall control.  (Source: GRI, CephalicResearch, AcaiSweet 2009)
