SUDDEN DEPARTURE SYNDROME was created to help us organize and carry on with our lives when loved ones suddenly depart, on the one hand; or when we suddenly get transported to the great beyond, on the other.
Sudden Departure Syndrome was created out of the 9-11 event and was written because of a devastating health diagnosis. It is now eerily important that everyone consider reading and obtaining this little book.

Most importantly, it reminds us that there is a dash between the year of birth, and the year of our possible transition, which no one knows with certainty when it would arrive, a dash which represents the time we spend on earth.
Recent events, the most dramatic being the loss of more than 3,000 lives on September 11, 2001 in New York have led to the thought of writing a book on Sudden Departure Syndrome. Families to this day are still picking through the pieces they left behind in an attempt to organize their affairs.
Then came the Miracle on the Hudson, when a very skilled pilot landed a full US Airways Airbus A320 on the Hudson, with no loss of life, but with a lot of prayers and thanks and decisions made to get lives in order from that day forward. event was a great motivator in organizing lives and affairs before the final day comes, so that lives can be lived fully. As was said "In the actions of the pilot we see what is possible when a person is trained and disciplined in advance to face the unexpected hour. Lives were saved because a person was prepared."
Following that was the plunge of Air France Flight 447 off the coast of Brazil, where, again families and friends are looking into organizing lives and affairs of those departed. Many websites are sharing words of condolences including this one from AVM, Malaysia “many things happen in today's world where there's no explanation. We know there is God who has his purposes which is sometimes beyond our understanding. I pray for all the lost souls and for all those who have lost a loved one. May God give you the strength to accept your loss and continue.”
But the most shocking event which has rocked , and is continuing to rock the entire world, is the all-too-soon, all-too-sudden departure of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and the uncertainties clouding his life and legacy, as regards the financial security of his children and the potential lack of clarity of issues surrounding his estate.
Michael Jackson lived his dash to the fullest as can be seen from the celebrations of his life and legacy of music, song and dance around the globe, as well as in unusual places such as a prison department in Manila, where the prisoners proudly choreograph their way through Thriller. To paraphrase Linda Ellis, who wrote the Dash Poem, this is what could be said of Michael Jackson, 1958-2009
