Jun 29, 2009 – Little Falls, NJ - In support of the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, The Park West Diner in Little Falls, NJ will be hosting “Take a Swing for the Cure.” Participants will be invited to hit a pink car with a pink baseball bat to symbolize “beating” cancer.
“We all know someone who’s been touched by breast cancer, and that’s why we’re pleased to host this unusual, yet fun event to raise awareness and funds to help cure breast cancer,” said John Stoupakis, principal owner of Park West Diner. “We’ re honored to partner with the dedicated people at the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. We hope that our customers and the general public will join us on July 15 in support of this wonderful cause,”
“Take A Swing For the Cure” will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2009 at Park West Diner’s parking lot - 1400 US Highway 46 Little Falls, NJ 07424 – from 8 AM to 4 PM.
“We thank Park West Diner and John Stoupakis for hosting this unique event along with Hills Auto Parts, Nouri’s Auto Repair and Postnet,” said Deborah Belfatto, Komen North Jersey Affiliate Executive Director and Co-Founder. “Funds raised will support research to find the cures and life-saving programs for medically underserved and uninsured women throughout northern New Jersey.”
At $5 per swing, all proceeds will benefit the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
Hills Auto Parts of Paterson donated the car and Nouri’s Auto Repair of Paterson donated towing services. The event banner is underwritten by Postnet of Clifton.
Park West Diner was named Best Diner in 2008, by New Jersey Monthly and has been widely recognized for its cuisine and service.

Seventy-five percent of net funds raised by the Affiliate ( $11.3 million since inception) stays in the Affiliate’s service region to support education, screening and treatment programs for uninsured populations; the remaining twenty-five percent ($5.1 million to date) is directed to research to find the cures.
