June 29, 2009 - PRLog -- VA Corps offers foreign exchange students the chance to experience Cape Town firsthand with internships in South Africa. Added to our ever-expanding list of internships are five brand new opportunities for young people. Why not come to South Africa and experience the vitality of this emerging democracy for yourself?

Think Twice education and counselling internship:
Spend between eight to ten weeks in a local Cape Town township primary or secondary school, helping the children with their daily problems. Be prepared for exhausting evenings and long mornings but an ultimate feeling of satisfaction, knowing that you have changed these children’s lives for the better.
Think Twice has three main counselling internship projects, each non-governmental and part of the charity organisation. The first project is an Early Childhood Developmental program, targeting children as young as four years old to participate in workshops, play activities and aftercare programs. The second course is for high school students, which runs during school hours in the school grounds. This program targets teens and young adults with its HIV/AIDS, relationships and peer pressure workshops and talks. Finally, Think Twice offers workshops for parents and adult caregivers, covering subjects which relate to their individual situations.

Well4Life fitness and health internship:
Interested in sports and sport science? Then this health internship is designed for you! If you want to help others maintain a healthy lifestyle and are considering a career in sports therapy, we offer you a stunning place in which to gain work experience.
Well4Life is a private wellness studio in High Constantia, located on the slopes of Table Mountain and surrounded by an upmarket suburb and wine-growing community. The gym offers clients the opportunity to be seen by a team of Biokineticists before undergoing their regime. Learn to motivate people to maintain their healthy lifestyle and explore the various programs on offer at Well4Life including Pilates, Power Plate, personal training experts, massage training, and nutritional services. For an excellent entry on your C.V. we recommend this internship in South Africa if you are looking to become a sports trainer, physical therapist, sports scientist or personal trainer.

South African Human Rights Commission internship:
These twelve weeks in the Human Rights Commission in South Africa will let you experience the hustle and bustle in the bureau for yourself! This internship in Cape Town gives you unprecedented access to the SAHRC.
Join the team as you investigate the human rights issues in this burgeoning democracy. Investigate the inner workings of the legislative capital in one of two types of internships. The first involves a legislative internship, where you will work directly with the Parliamentary offices of the SAHRC, dealing with purely legislative matters such as researching bills for Parliament, writing official policy papers and submitting them. The legal side of the internship involves working within South Africa’s well-developed legal system dealing with complaints of human rights and violations. If you have ever considered a career in law, then this internship is definitely for you!

Outward Bound marketing internship:
South Africa’s most beautiful city, Cape Town, is the host for this internship opportunity. Are you outgoing and have a keen eye for marketing? Then this work experience is tailor-made for you!
Outward Bound is a non-profit educational organisation which strives to teach kids the life skills they need to get ahead in their lives. Your main task on this internship will be to assist operations for the Regional Marketing and Fundraising Manager at the Outward Bound offices in Cape Town. Computer literacy and a fun, open personality are the requirements for this placement. Meet genuine South Africans from all walks of life as you participate in the Outward Bound activities. If you are interested in marketing and communication, and wish to travel to an exotic location while gaining work experience, why not opt for this amazing internship in South Africa?
