PR Log (Press Release) – Jun 27, 2009 – Yields on certificates of deposit in Pennsylvania were down for the week but the rate of decline was restrained on the shorter term CDs.  The average of the best five year CD rates in Pennsylvania lost four basis points or 4/100 of a percent off their yield to close out the week at 3.52%.  The two year CD rate average in Pennsylvania declined by seven basis points to 2.70%.  Pennsylvania CD rates with a one year term deteriorated by only two basis points to end the week at 2.48%.  The six month term CDs were unchanged, holding at an average of 2.09% for the week.

The best six month CD in Pennsylvania comes from Republic First Bancorp with an interest rate of 2.25% on their seven month CD.  First CornerStone Bank trails by ten basis points with a seven month CD that earns a rate of 2.15%.  Two odd term, 15 month bank CDs lead the one year category.  Asian Bank has a 15 month at 2.65% while Royal Bank of America promotes a rate of 2.60% on their 15 month CD.
