When Sonia Nicholson thought her 10 year old daughter had begun her period, she wanted to do something to make her feel special. Mrs. Nicholson remembered from her own childhood how scary it can be to start the journey from girl to little lady. She wanted to let her daughter know that it was perfectly natural to be self-conscious during these changes and that she would be ok if she had the right tools and information.
Mrs. Nicholson began to gather products that would help her daughter get through this transition. There were the necessities of course: pads, pantiliners, and sanitary napkins. But she also found fun stuff like scented body wash, fruity SPF 15 lip balm, and a journal. She placed everything in a gift box, wrapped it with a colorful bow, and included an encouraging note.
The box was such a big hit with her daughter and her friends that Mrs. Nicholson began to think that she might be on to something. Instead of parents having to run all over town and gather the items for the box like she did, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to buy the “period kit” already assembled?
