BUILDING GREEN 2009 at the Eastwood City - A Green Building Conference

PHILGBC Leads the Major Stakeholders in the Building Industry in “TRANSFORMING THE MARKET”

June 27, 2009 - PRLog -- QUEZON CITY, Philippines.  - The Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC) conducts Building Green 2009 on July 2-4, 2009 at the Eastwood Mall Atrium in Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City, Philippines.  Building Green is the Conference and Expo series held every year to raise awareness on the several key sustainability issues that affect the country.  It also presents the green building agenda of the PHILGBC.  Green building is extensively promoted by the PHILGBC as a solution for industry in addressing energy, water, solid waste management, and climate change issues that greatly affect developing countries like the Philippines.  The expo brings together exhibitors of green products, technology, services, and projects to help showcase the various available avenues for sustainable and green building. Simultaneous with the expo will be a series of education events. These events include a student competition to design a green office for the PHILGBC and technical sessions will be conducted by leading companies presenting potential green solutions.

The first assembly on the PHILGBC’s BERDE Program will be held on the third day of the Conference.  BERDE, also known as the Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence is the National Green Building Rating System Program of the PHILGBC.
The PHILGBC hopes Building Green 2009 serves not only to create environmental awareness but also to inspire Filipinos to start integrating green building and sustainability into the way our built environment is designed, built, and operated. The PHILGBC strongly believes that “Together, We Will Transform the Market”.  Be Part of the TRANSFORMATION, Be Part of BUILDING GREEN 2009.

The Philippine Green Building Council is a national not-for-profit organization that promotes the sharing of knowledge on green practices to the property industry to ensure a sustainable environment.
As an alliance of national leaders from both the public and private sectors, the PHILGBC shall be the non-partisan forum for the development of the national green building rating system. This forum shall be the stage in the ongoing debate on how to measure a building’s sustainability credentials.
