Greenville, SC – A natural hair book entitled 7 Steps to Healthy Natural Hair; written for Black women, by a Black woman will be included in the September issue of Sophisticate’
7 Steps to Healthy Natural Hair, Michanna’s first book, was written during her free time while living in the DC area. The book provides answers to questions that she heard almost on a daily basis for several years, in regards to her natural hair.
By providing information regarding her personal natural hair journey, Michanna gives in-depth real life step by step instructions on how to return one’s hair to its God given natural state. She also briefly discusses natural hair salons as well as common misconceptions about Black hair.
Michanna says: “Initially I just answered questions posed to me face to face. Once I started to receive questions from total strangers online through MySpace and Facebook, I decided to write a book, to put my personal advice all in one place.
7 Steps to Healthy Natural Hair has been well received, selling both in the US and Europe. Just a few months after being published, it was placed in the Hurlburt Field Air Force Base library as a result of a request of one of the frequenters of the library. The book can be found on www.jazigifts.com, www.amazon.com, www.barnesandnoble.com, and several other websites.
Michanna has published three books through Jazi Gifts Publishing Division, her personally created publishing company. Two of the three books are by Michanna. Her second book, entitled Views of Falls Park, is a coffee table book which includes photos taken of Falls Park, which is located in downtown Greenville, SC. More books are set to come in the future through Jazi Gifts Publishing.
