Jay's Blacktop Blonde was named after the close friend of TailGate Beer, "Jay the Tailgate Guy." Jay has been an inspiration to TailGate Beer and its founders, and the company thinks it is best to spread the word of his works. As Jay tirelessly travels the United States tailgating, grilling, and making friends, TGB tries to do their part by keeping him hydrated. If anyone deserves a TGB beer named after them, it's Jay the Tailgate Guy!
The latest addition to the TailGate menu is an American Blonde, or Golden, Ale. “We brewed a beer that is smooth, tasty and plain easy to drink; the ideal beer for any setting.” Owner and founder of http://TailGateBeer.com, Wesley Keegan, says, “Most blonde ales are very timid in their hop selection and afraid to try anything creative. We try to break that mold with a bold use of Cascade and Magnum hops, hops popularly found in IPA's and other strong ales.” TailGate Beer finds the softer, gentler side of these spicy hops and uses them to create a tongue tickling zest that's sure to please. To complement their hop selection, TailGate uses only the finest golden malts that add a crisp and refreshingly smooth body character.
