This is great news for the Menorca tourism trade, and for owners of property in Menorca, according to Les Calvert director of overseas property portal Property Abroad.com.
"The fact that BMI has made what seems to be quite a sudden increase in flights to Menorca shows, not only that there are more people flying into the region, but also that they are not on arranged package deals. This suggests that at least some of them will be renting holiday property, thus this is great news for the Menorca property market," he said.
On a more general note this backs up the reports of an upward trend in people renting property privately for their holidays, suggested Les, adding: "and long may it continue."
Menorca has long been one of the most popular regions in Spain with British holiday makers, but not so much with property buyers. If this trend of people renting property privately in Menorca does indeed emerge then its popularity with property buyers can only increase.
