Using SuperGIS Moile Engine for Leisure Farming
Using SuperGIS Mobile Engine, a Software Development Kit (SDK), SuperGeo has created a successful mobile GIS application, Agriculture Guide System, to leisure farming.
In recent years, people value in-depth travelling more and more and leisure farming is one of the best choices to explore the beauty of nature. Therefore, the development of technical applications to this field has been emphasized and E-tour agriculture has then promoted. The mobile guide system is then created from this concept in order to provide tourists with a convenient and rich-in-information solution.
In order to help tourists promptly obtain the information of agriculture, natural ecosystem, history, and culture of Taiwan, Taiwanese Council of Agriculture has developed the mobile guide system integrating mobile communication and geography information services. With the mobile guide system, people can enjoy the on-line tour guide with any mobile devices, such as PDA, 3G mobile phone, and smart phone, which provide position function of GPS (AGPS), QRCode decoding, and camera function for tourists. Abundant tourist information in accommodation, cuisine, local specialty, etc. is thus offered quickly just by clicking on the easy and light devices.
Agriculture Guide System employs SuperGIS Mobile Engine as the core for the system development. Integrating with e-map and e-book, the user-friendly mobile guide system is built for fulfilling the most of users’ needs. This system mainly contains two functions- map guide and scenic spot introduction:
Map guide function provides basic GIS functions, such as zoom in, zoom out, and data query. With the GPS positioning function, users can accurately know the present direction and the correct location of each scenic spot.
Scenic spot introduction function contains rich tourist information, covering agriculture, natural ecosystem, geographic environment, history, etc. Also, on-site photos and audio guide are provided for tourists to learn more natural and human background knowledge conveniently.
