MedEZ volunteers for CCHIT Workgroups
Davie, FL – June 24, 2009 – MedEZ, a leading provider of medical and behavioral health management software, today announces that Thedy Brezault, MedEZ President/CEO, has been selected to serve as a member of Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT®) Behavioral Health work group for the upcoming certification development cycle. This workgroup consists of 11 members, including Mr. Brezault, that encompass various stakeholders within the behavioral health industry. He was one of 265 members –from an applicant pool of more than 600 overall– invited to work with the Commission’s 2009-2010 workgroups.
According to CCHIT, “The Commission’s volunteer work groups will operate under a completely new criteria and test script development model and timeline in order to align with standards and implementation specifications as well as the meaningful use objectives and measures that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) must publish by December 31, 2009”. 1
With 15 years of experience in the medical and behavioral healthcare field, Mr. Brezault feels that he can provide valuable contributions to the Commission’s quest for “the adoption of robust, interoperable health information technology”.2 With his extensive involvement with industry stakeholders in behavioral health, Mr. Brezault offers a unique perspective into both end-user needs and high standards of engineering and development.
