United Skates of America has expanded their Wednesday night session! This session is now from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and only costs .99 cents! Like always, skate rental is extra and is only $4.00. This amazing low cost deal runs from June 24, 2009 thru September 2, 2009. All age groups are welcome. United Skates of America is located at the Woodbridge Community Center at 600 Main Street, Woodbridge NJ 07095. Don’t forget skating is not only fun but a great work out.
According to the Roller Skating Association International:
• Roller skating provides a complete aerobic workout and involves all of the body's muscles, especially the heart.
• Roller skating is equivalent to jogging in terms of health benefits-caloric consumption, reduction of body fat and leg strength development.
• Roller skating is recognized and recommended by the American Heart Association (AHA) as an aerobic fitness sport.
• The number of calories burned per hour while skating at 6 mph is 350 and 600 while skating at 10 mph.
