Marketing On The Go: Tri-city Area Businesses Go Mobile With Mobile Media Marketing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jun 25, 2009 -
Kingsport, TN (Tri-Cities eCommerce Business Solutions) - Rick Roberts owner/operator of TCeBS announced earlier in June of this year the upcoming beta release of a cost effective mobile media marketing solution geared towards small business participation in what once only feasible to larger companies with bigger advertising budgets.

Also on the TCeBS website, http://www.tricities-ebs.com, more details on the uses and benefits for mobile media marketing within small business are discussed. The new services scheduled for release in early July 2009 are in current pre-launch status with beta clients being added to test the features and functions. The reasons why small business should be getting geared up for this emerging technology were released as well.

"Mobile Media Marketing, specifically bounce-back and permission based SMS text based autoresponder services have been available to business since 2003" said Mr. Roberts. "However the cost associated both to the advertiser and the consumer has kept the venue out of the main stream for most small business owners", he added.

The popular TV show American Idol uses the most recognized form mobile media marketing by allowing viewers of the show to text in via their cell phones and PDAs votes for that week's performers. More recently AT&T has used the SMS text based autoresponder services to allow Nascar race viewers to participate in weekly polls of opinion on the weekly Nascar race.

Rick Roberts said, "Traditionally the costs have been the most prohibitive factor keeping small businesses from participating in mobile media marketing. You not only had the monthly costs for the use of an SMS short code, but also a per message fee as well."

Mobile media marketing uses a "short code", the cell phone equivalent of a website domain name, sent in via a text message from the consumer's cell phone or PDA to receive a short text message of information back immediately.

"SMS short code aggregation with current cell providers can cost anywhere from $500 - $2500 monthly, through our strategic planning, software development, and partnering we're able to offer the same services for roughly 10 - 20 percent of that with no per message fees to either the advertiser or the consumer", TCeBS owner Rick Roberts explained.

For additional information on mobile media marketing and how any business can benefit from it and get involved please visit TCeBS website at http://www.tricities-ebs.com. A complete resource guide "Marketing On The Go" is also available for download as well.

In a 2008 survey conducted by Pew Internet & American Life/Elon University its was predicted that by the year 2020 the majority of Internet access will be via cell and PDA users. Now is the time for small businesses to get onboard with this emerging marketing technology as cost is no longer a prohibitive factor.
