SHINE invites legendary Brit singer Terry Reid
For its new and expected project, the French band SHINE has invited a legendary voice of British rock: Terry Reid. “SHINE with Terry Reid” (EP), a “Tubes à Essais” production, to be released soon.
Hero of Wight Island (1970) and Glastonbury (1971) festivals, Terry Reid has worked and toured with many prestigious artists (Rolling Stones, Cream, Santana, Fleetwood Mac, Alan White, Mick Taylor, Mitch Mitchell…) and has delivered major records (“River”, “Seed of Memory”).
It’s when he saw the film “Glastonbury Fayre” (documentary about the 1st edition of the Glastonbury festival) in July 2008 that Guillaume Simon from SHINE has been literally deeply moved by Terry Reid’s performance. He’s tried to contact him through his web site and got an answer from Terry’s agent. Guillaume sent a first demo “Mind Dance”; Terry Reid really enjoyed it and personally replied to the French call: the adventure can start.
Mr Reid has brilliantly shown up in Paris between 9th and 15th June to record an official EP (as a side artist) - for the first time in many years – with SHINE, in their studio, before participating at the new Glastonbury festival this summer (28th June).
SHINE has already made an EP (“One Day” in 2004) and an album (“The Common Station” in 2008, distributed by EMI), has played as the first part of Sia in London (2004) and Morcheeba during their European tour in 2008. SHINE’s music has been welcome by both the audience and the professionals in France (FIP selection) as well as abroad (presented by the BBC in September 2008, broadcasted in the TV show “Ugly Betty” in November 2008, edited on many compilations in the USA, in Europe and in Asia).
